PRINCE RUPERT, BC, - THE FISHING
CAPITOL OF CANADA
Northern B.C. Fishing Charters operates out
of Prince Rupert, British Columbia. Prince Rupert
is located approx. 500 miles north of Vancouver B.C.
situated on the edge of B.C. and Alaska. It is commonly
referred to as the halibut capitol of Canada. Arguably
this scenic northern town should be called the fishing
capitol of Canada. The surrounding waters lie on the
main marine highway leading to some of the largest
salmon producing rivers in the world. These waters
encompassing some 300 square miles are home to vast
schools of herring, needlefish, and shrimp, the main
menu item for all 5 species of Pacific Salmon, including
giant King / Chinook, acrobatic Coho / Silver, and
gargantuan Pacific Halibut. We at Northern B.C. Fishing
Charters target these runs during their final feeding
frenzy before they head for their rivers of origin.
